Just recently I heard a comment: “It’s so easy to dismiss fitness”
This got me thinking about the everyday job of everyday people.
How do we start out in our life?
At least in my generation once we were up on our feet we spent a lot of time if not outdoors, then at least up and down from the floor, crawling into difficult to get spaces, constantly changing position from sitting to lying, all fours, rolling around or climbing up or over anything climbable.
Obviously at the table and in school they told us to sit still, but we then still visited our friends- guess what- on foot, bicycle or skates, in other words we were physically active. No one ever dreamed of asking to be driven anywhere.
We took for granted that we could do all this movement.
Then life, time and a whole lot of unconscious poor movement choices came into the equation. This fact is conveniently forgotten when we need to get on the floor or climb up on something.
We used to be able to do it, why not now?
Because we have dismissed that moving more and being conscious of that movement provides us with a basic level of mobility and fitness to do those simple things.
If we could do them from the beginning, then there should be no reason why we can’t do them now.
